Upon removing the partitions and dropped ceilings we discovered that the newest Café Grumpy is in the original “Conference Room” of Stone & Webster, Inc in their office building of the same name built in 1930, in the southern most section of Manhattan. The design of the café restores the grandness and elegance of the original space while maintaining the inviting, friendly vibe of the Café Grumpy stores. With natural materials, warm lighting and classical details the cafe is an escape for New Yorkers and tourists alike from the bustling city outside its doors.
